CAREER DISCOVERY PROGRAMS

There are 1000s of careers out there to choose from, but how do you choose one and know it will be right for you? It’s an important decision, however many young people make career choices without knowing much about the occupation they are choosing, or how it fits with their interests, personality and preferences. This can cause trouble down the track after they have started tertiary education or their first job, spent a lot of time, money and effort to prepare themselves for a particular career, and then realise it’s not for them.

The career discovery programs are designed with young people in mind, and are ideal for 15 – 30 year olds who don’t know what they want to do, or who might have some ideas about possible career paths but want to do their research before pursuing a particular occupation or industry.

PACKAGES

Career Discovery Program - Standard Package - $549

(career discovery activities + career criteria report)

This program will provide the client with an understanding of their work motivators, personality traits, what they will value in their work, what they should be avoiding in their work, learning styles and work type preferences. At the completion of this program, the client will have a good understanding of themselves in relation to work and will be provided with a career criteria report, which includes a list of potential occupations that may be suitable for them.

This program is ideal for Year 9 – 11 students and can be delivered online if needed.

This program includes:

3 x face-to-face self-discovery consultations with a career coach
An individualised Career Discovery criteria report, including a list of occupations which may be suitable and occupational research resources
1.5-hour session with a career coach to discuss the findings of the Career Discovery report and next steps.

Career Discovery Program - Advanced Package - $849

(career discovery activities + report + 3 coaching sessions + action plan)

This program includes the introduction package, plus 3 x coaching sessions and an action plan. During these coaching sessions occupations identified in the Career Discovery report will be further investigated and researched, and those not suitable eliminated as options. This allows the client to narrow down their occupational choices and then create an action plan that will help them take the next steps towards their career goals.

This program is suited to Year 10 – 12 students, school leavers, tertiary students not enjoying their current studies and anyone up to the age of 30 who doesn’t know what they want to do and needs to make definite career decisions.

In addition to the Standard Package, this program includes:

3 x face-to-face coaching sessions with a career coach
Occupational research resources
Detailed action plan
